The 17th annual Eastmoreland Neighborhood Clean-up on July 12 was a tremendous success. The event’s highlights included:
- $2,519 raised, with very low overhead
- 16 volunteers
- 125 vehicle loads of “junk,”
- 1.5 tons of paper shredding, at NW Fibers,
- Five large commercial dumpsters with metal, green waste, yard debris, etc. — much of which will be recycled.
Thank you to everyone who participated: those who brought their unwanted items, the volunteers who helped the event run smoothly, the organizations that sponsored this event (City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Southeast Uplift and Metro), and all who donated time, treasure and talents to this event.
Special thanks are due to Matt Morozovsky and Alison Starkey who coordinated this year’s clean-up. Thank you for all your hard work!
