Alex Rovello Memorial Project Dedication – July 27

Eastmoreland residents are invited to take part in the dedication of the restored Berkeley Park tennis courts as the Alex Rovello Memorial Project on Sunday, July 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donors to this project are invited to take part in a photo to be taken on the courts at 10:45 a.m.

Alex Rovello was an Eastmoreland resident, a member of Cleveland High School’s only state championship tennis team, a nationally ranked junior player in the United States Tennis Association, and an outstanding tennis player at the University of Oregon who passed away in May 2013. Alex learned to play tennis at Berkeley Park, and through the hard work and support of his parents, Jim and Geri Rovello, along with Portland Parks and Recreation and numerous donors, the Berkeley Park tennis courts have been restored to USTA standards. Come join our community as we dedicate this fitting memorial to one of Eastmoreland’s own stand-out athletes.
